Global Education Morocco has sponsored educational and cultural exchange projects to benefit Morocco and America since 1994.
In 1998, Global Education launched the George Washington Academy (GWA) as an innovative, American K-12 School. Today, GWA is the largest American school in North Africa and one of the five American schools recognized by the two governments’ American-Moroccan Bilateral Agreement on American Schools, effective 2013.
In 2014, the Board of Global Education Morocco voted unanimously to change the Association's name to George Washington Academy Association. This name change reflects Global Education’s focus on K-12 education and continuous improvement of GWA in Morocco. The name has changed, but the vision and mission are still clear — to provide an American education that equips minds and builds character for Moroccan and international children.
