Honorary Members

Ali Belhaj

Ali became an Honarary Member of Global Education in 2010 and is a Director of the GWA School Board. He is currently the President of the Eastern Region of Morocco and the vice president of the PAM political party. He was a Member of Parliament (1993-2002) and Mayor of the Dar-Bouazza Casablanca community (1992-1994). He is also a Member of the Executive Committee of the Mediterranean Development Forum (MDF) with the World Bank, a member of UNDP and of the Global Leaders of Tomorrow organization.

Ali is a Director of several companies operating in the real estate, citrus, and olive oil sectors. He is the Chief Executive Officer at SOFILOG, the President of Maroc 2020 and also manages the Companies Financiers d’Investissements. He was educated in the U.S. and received a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles in 1985.

Mohamed Benaissa

Mohamed became an Honarary Member of Global Education in 2010. He has had a long and distinguished political and diplomatic career. He studied Journalism at Cairo University, Egypt and the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, U.S.A. and Communication at University of Colombia, New York, U.S.A. He is currently Mayor of Asilah in Morocco (serving his third term in office), Secretary General of the Asilah Forum Foundation and an International Consultant in Communication and Development. His former roles have included: Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs (1999-2007), Moroccan Ambassador to U.S.A. (1993-1999), Moroccan Minister of Culture (1985-1992), Member of Parliament (1977-1984 and 1984-1992) and Assistant General Secretary of the World Food Congress. He has been decorated by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, His Majesty King Hassan II and foreign countries from around the world. He is married and has five children.

Dr. Miloud A. Belhaj

- Leading cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon in Casablanca and parent of GWA graduates.
Educated in Morocco and Paris, practised in Paris and Riyadh before returning to Casa.


Maître Abdellah Chbany

- A local lawyer in Casablanca and parent of GWA students

- A generous, founding family.
