Global Education is Official Judge of Morocco's National Public Speaking Competition
Global Education and the George Washington Academy were the official judges at the 11th Annual National Public Speaking Competition hosted by Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane. Over 20 University students from 12 Moroccan universities competed to be the Morocco's National Champions. AUI asked the President of Global Education, Deborah MacArthur, and the English Department Chair, Guinevere McWhorter, to judge 25 university students on their speeches on "Lessons for the Future". The two winners were Rim El Atlassi from AUI and Chaimae Bakhalou from The University Moulay Ismail in Meknes.
Morocco's national champions will compete against 42 other countries at the International Public Speaking Competition (IPSC). Sponsored by the English Speaker's Union and HSBC, the IPSC began in 1981 to give young people practical experience in public speaking, learn effective communication skills in English and give students from a variety of countries and backgrounds a chance to meet, exchange views and form friendships. Likewise, Global Education supports education by providing multilingual schools and American style education. Its flagship school, GWA, is the largest American K-12 school in North Africa. Founded in 1998 in Casablanca, GWA is accredited with 700 students from 32 countries and focuses on equipping minds and building character in multilingual, multicultural environments.
Global Education and GWA congratulates these outstanding students on their achievements and wishes them the best of luck as they compete on behalf of Morocco at the International Competitions in London.
